Gay Dads Australia is pleased to announce that we will be holding the 6th Surrogacy for Gay Men Forum in Melbourne on Saturday 5th November 2011 from 11am to 2pm.

They are pleased to be able to hold this important forum at the JOY 94.9 function room in Melbourne’s CBD.  JOY 94.9 is Melbourne’s Gay and Lesbian Radio Station and is an amazing supporter of gay dads and rainbow families. Gay Dads Australia is thrilled that JOY 94.9 is supporting them in holding this forum.  Please support them.

Gay Dads Australia will be announcing a full program details shortly but if you are interested in finding out more about becoming a dad via surrogacy then please mark this in your diary and register online at www.gaydadsaustralia.com.  They will have some great speakers to help you learn about surrogacy in general, surrogacy in Victoria, surrogacy in USA and surrogacy in India.  Light refreshments will be provided.

The forum is more than just a chance to learn about surrogacy, it is also an opportunity to meet and network with guys going through the process as well.

The forum as always will be FREE and put on entirely by volunteers.

Last year Gay Dads Australia got around 90 guys coming along to the forum (some are now dads!!!) and we expect that there will be a similar demand for the forum this year.  Registration is now open at www.gaydadsaustralia.com.au so please register early.

Every years Gay Dads Australia get guys from around the country (and from outside Australia) flying in for the forum and they certainly encourage guys interstate to come if they can. So far They have several interstate couples registered!!!

Gay Dads – Walk in your shoes research study

Dear Gay Dads/ Dads to Be

Beyond Blue is running a study wanting to recruit people from a wide range of backgrounds. So if you have any friends who would like to participate in this important GLBTI research study please forward the following…

Do you want to help reduce the discrimination faced by GLBTI populations? Well, tell us what it’s like to walk in your shoes.

Sign up for an online research study which will help shape an advertising campaign to reduce discrimination associated with depression and anxiety in the GLBTI community.

You must be over 18 to participate and will need to log on twice a week to the online community to share your thoughts, opinions, experiences and stories.

There is a limited number of places available in the study. To ensure representation from a wide range of people, we ask interested people to complete a short recruitment questionnaire. A group of approximately 100 people will be invited to participate in the online community.

To register your interest click on this link.

The study is supported by beyondblue and several major GLBTI organisations that are members of the beyondblue GLBTI Reference Group
